Cookie Policy
How hopn.eu uses cookies and similar technologies, and how you can control them.
1. Who we are
This Cookie Policy explains how HOPn (Weichterstr. 1, 86807 Buchloe, Germany) uses cookies and similar technologies on https://www.hopn.eu. Controller contact: info@hopn.eu. Provider details: Impressum.
2. What are cookies and similar technologies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, and pixels or scripts that store or read information on your device. Together they help a site remember preferences, keep sessions secure, or (where used) measure usage.
3. Legal framework
We process cookie-related data in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable ePrivacy rules. Strictly necessary cookies (or equivalent storage) required to provide a service you request may be used without consent. Non-essential cookies (e.g. analytics or marketing) are only used with your prior consent where required. Further information on personal data processing is in our Privacy Policy.
4. Cookies and storage we use
- Essential / functional — theme preference
Name / key:hopn-theme(browser localStorage). Purpose: remember light/dark mode between visits. Duration: until you clear site data. Legal basis: legitimate interest / strictly necessary for the appearance preference you set (Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR where personal data is involved). - Hosting / security (server-side)
Our hosting provider may process technical logs (e.g. IP address, browser type, timestamp) and may set strictly necessary cookies required to deliver the site securely. These are used to operate, protect, and troubleshoot the website.
We do not currently set advertising, social-media, or third-party marketing cookies on the marketing site, and we do not run non-essential analytics cookies that require a consent banner. If that changes, we will update this policy and obtain consent where legally required before setting such cookies.
5. How long we keep cookie data
Local storage preferences remain on your device until you delete them. Hosting logs are retained only as long as needed for security and operations, then deleted or anonymised according to our retention practices described in the Privacy Policy.
6. Managing and refusing cookies
You can clear cookies and site data, or block storage, in your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to refuse all cookies or only third-party cookies. Disabling storage may reset theme preferences or affect how some features work. Browser help pages typically explain cookie controls under settings such as Privacy, Security, or Site settings.
7. Your rights
Where cookie use involves personal data, you may have GDPR rights including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, and lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Contact info@hopn.eu or use our contact form. See the Privacy Policy for details.
8. Updates
We may update this Cookie Policy when our technologies or legal requirements change. The current version is always published on this page.
